Ceira rode in silence, she had nothing to say. She was too busy mentally bashing herself to make civil conversation with the man she had revealed herself to. She could almost hear Larkzen's reply now, "You did what!?" Vin saw the woman shake her head and had to wonder what she was thinking about. Frankly her silence was making him wary. It wasn't everyday a person ran into a werewolf. "So what brings you to these parts?" Vin asked quietly no longer able to deal with her silent company. Ceira paused in her self-punishment to look at him, "We had nothing better to do." "We?" Vin asked, a look of puzzlement in his eyes. "We meaning Larkzen and I, she went ahead to the next town when I got distracted." "Oh is that what ya call it, distracted?" Vin asked, smiling. Ceira scowled not seeing the humor in her predicament. "We were riding and I heard a scream. Usually a person in distress gets my attention, especially if it happens to be a woman." She replied curtly. Vin held a hand up, not wanting to see just how far she could be angered before that other side came out in her. "I'm just trying to make conversation ma'am." Ceira sighed, "I am sure that you are and I am sorry that my company is less then agreeable." She sure has a funny way of talking, Vin thought to himself. The sound of her voice wasn't unpleasant, was quite soothing in fact. She had a musical lilt to the way she talked. "Where are you from exactly?" He asked, quite curious. Ceira studied the passing trees before she looked at him again. "Have you ever heard of Ireland?" Vin thought on that for a moment. He smiled at the way she said that word, Ireland. He could hear the pride in her voice. "I heard tales about Ireland when I was a boy. I used to think it was a magical place, guess I was right." He answered smiling. Ceira couldn't help but smile back at him. He was doing pretty well for someone who just found out that fairytales came true. She admired his courage; any less of a man would have shot her on the spot. Vin reined in Peso and looked at the horizon. "Well there it is, Four Corners." Ceira looked at the small town, she had to smile to herself. If Larkzen was there she didn't like it. "Ma'am?" Vin asked. Ceira laughed, "You will find out soon enough why I smile Vin." Then with a wicked grin planted on her face, Ceira sent Storm into a gallop. Vin hesitated for only a second before sending Peso after her. Ceira had won the race hands down, she had cheated yes but that did not matter. The town looked pretty quiet at this time of night. She looked at Vin as he pulled his horse to a halt. "I assume that there is somewhere a body could imbibe in some good whiskey in this town?" She asked a laugh in her voice. "If I didn't know better I would think you're related to Ezra." Vin replied back. Ceira didn't have time to ask who this Ezra was, or even get out of the saddle. Out of nowhere a young man came running up to her. He tried to catch his breath before he spoke to her. JD stood there panting, his hands on his knees. He pushed the locks of black hair that had fallen into his face away before addressing the striking woman on the big gray. "Ma'am I am so glad to see you." He said finally. Ceira looked down at the boy, confusion clear on her face, "I would not know why, we have never met before." JD straightened, eyeing the horse that seemed very unhappy to see him so close to his mistress. "You are the woman that Larkzen was looking for?" He asked quickly. "I am she, why do you ask?" The confused look turning into one of concern. "I tried to get her off the roof ma'am but she wasn't having any of that. She had so much to drink and I was afraid that she was going to fall." JD explained in a rush. Ceira looked immediately to the rooftops, she should have known that this would happen. Larkzen had a hard time saving herself from herself. There she was, pacing on the roof of the local church. How very ironic. Vin followed Ceira's line of vision, curious to see what this Larkzen was. It amused him that one person could cause so much trouble. He truly didn't know Larkzen yet. "There you are." Lark slurred, then covered her ears because she had shouted. "Here I am," Ceira shouted back, "What you doing on the roof Lark?" The imp in question teetered a bit on the roof, causing the two men watching to flinch in reaction. Ceira just sat perfectly still. Muttering something about slanted roofs Larkzen unfurled her wings and took off. She landed, badly (one should not fly while intoxicated) right in front of Ceira. Vin and JD had their mouths completely open at this point, much to Ceira's despair. It just wasn't a night to keep secrets. "You have not answered my question Larkzen." She said quietly. "I was looking for you," Lark said pointing at Ceira and then becoming fascinated with that single finger. When she was able to pull away from the humor of it, Lark reinforced that pointing, "Where have you been young lady?" Ceira shook her head and then sighed, "I was busy revealing my hairy side to Vin over there." She said pointing at the shocked man. Larkzen could not contain the look of horror that appeared on her face, "Oh no how are we going to keep incon inconspi hidden from people if you are going to do that?" Ceira tried very hard not to laugh at that moment. Lark was so very entertaining when she was in her cups. "Oh I don't know Larkzen, why don't you ask yourself that question, you just flew off the roof." Lark's eyes peeked out from under her silly hat. She looked from side to side and then grinned impishly, "Oops." Ceira finally laughed, "Yeah oops." "I guess there is no need for this awful hat anymore." Larkzen said as she took the offending article of her head. Blue hair fell around pointy ears in disarray. It was at that moment that Ceira remembered they had an audience. She looked at Vin and the young JD and had to laugh again. They were openly staring at Lark now. Vin broke away from the sight long enough to look at Ceira, "Okay I think now we need an explanation. Ceira slid out of the saddle and grabbed Storm's reins, "Not tonight, I am in need of a hot bath and a warm bed, perhaps tomorrow." Larkzen looked from Ceira and Vin and then nodded vigorously. Vin looked like he was going to say more but thought better of it. He had forgotten for a moment what she was, if that were possible. "Come on Larky," Ceira said with a grin and then looked at Vin and JD, "Good night gentlemen." "Ma'am." They both said as they touched fingers to their hats. Lark looked at the two men and then grinned at them. She said nothing as she turned to follow Ceira down the street. "What was that Vin?" JD asked in amazement. Vin shook his head, "I don't rightly know JD." "Hopefully we won't find out." Vin chuckled, "Oh I am going to find out JD, I'll let you know when I do." With that Vin sent Peso trotting down the street. JD could only watch and shake his head.
